We are looking for a junior administrator who wants to work to promote healthy lifestyles in the population through knowledge development and dissemination.

At the section for health-promoting lifestyles at the Centre for Epidemiology and Community Medicine (CES), we work with lifestyle factors such as tobacco and nicotine, alcohol, physical activity, and dietary habits. Right now, we need reinforcement in the area of tobacco/nicotine. We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of the importance of lifestyle factors for public health and methodological knowledge in quantitative research and compilation of scientific literature.

CES is part of Region Stockholm. We are tasked with developing public health initiatives to contribute to good and equitable health in the population. CES is a university healthcare unit and works with research, development, and education in close collaboration with academia, primarily Karolinska Institute. We have about 80 employees, and our premises are located at Torsplan in Stockholm.

CES runs and develops the Quit Smoking Line, which is a national support line for people who want help changing their tobacco habits. You can read more about us at the Centre for Epidemiology and Community Medicine.

About the position:

You will work on projects related to new nicotine products, in close collaboration with Karolinska Institute and the Quit Smoking Line.

Your tasks may include developing surveys on tobacco and nicotine use, recruiting participants for studies, managing databases for collected data, quantitative data analysis, and monitoring developments in the tobacco/nicotine area, including compiling scientific literature.

You will work alongside various competencies at CES and have external contacts. Therefore, you are skilled at conveying complex relationships and results in an easily understandable way.

You will be placed in the section for health-promoting lifestyles and will work closely with the Quit Smoking Line.

We are looking for someone who

  • has a degree in public health science or another relevant university education
  • has good knowledge of the importance of lifestyle factors for public health, preferably with specific expertise in tobacco/nicotine
  • has experience in quantitative research, especially data collection using surveys
  • can compile and analyze large amounts of information based on scientific literature and communicate it in a useful way
  • has excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Additionally, it is meritorious if you

  • have experience in investigative work conducted using scientific methods
  • have experience in qualitative research
  • are highly driven by curiosity about new areas and ideas
  • are a structured and solution-oriented person who takes initiative
  • enjoy working both independently and collaboratively

Employment form:

Project employment for 3 years. Full-time 39.30 hours/week. Start date by agreement.

  • in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
